Noordhoek – “north corner”

Noordhoek nestles below Chapman’s Peak at the south end of scenic Chapman’s Peak Drive on the west coast of the Cape Peninsula.

Named by Dutch settlers in 1743 as the “northern corner” of the untouched Long Beach that stretches 8km south to the neighbouring village of Kommetjie, Noordhoek is a charming rural suburb best known for long beach walks, horse rides, spectacular sunsets and dark night skies, a thriving artist community, great coffee and food, organic produce and Cape Town’s last remaining dairy herd.

Only 35km from Cape Town city centre, Noordhoek can be reached via the coastal tollroad Chapman’s Peak Drive and Hout Bay or the mountain road Ou Kaapse Weg which cuts through the Silvermine Nature Reserve.
